Zoya Stacy and Bonita Gold Glitter

Zoya Stacy and Bonita Gold Glitter,This is a color that I loved so much I bought it twice without knowing! I normally wait until Ulta has Zoyas on sale to purchase them. I can't stand waiting for polish in the mail, I get too much anxiety lol and I don't like paying for shipping. So Zoya Stacy is a color that I have seen swatched a few times and seeing it in pictures I kept thinking "this color looks very inconsistent". So I finally swatched it and added a little bling with Bonita Gold Glitter on ring finger. Here she is:

Look at the huge difference without flash (below) and full sun (above). Talk about two different colors! The application was difficult in the sense that it was not consistent enough. The consistency of the polish is too thin and should be thicker for smoother application. On my pinky you can see slight balding. Overall I would give Stacy a "B" because of the formula.

Nameless Bonita

Hi Ladies,

So sorry I've been absent for so long. School is so demanding and for the past few days I've been fighting a nasty cold. I've had little time to sit and reflect on polish, but I have a few new things to share. Hopefully as I feel better I will start to branch out to new techniques. I'm still working through my Summer drawer in my helmer which includes colors such as this beauty by Bonita. I got it in a set at Ross and it really impressed. Formula was good and the consistency was there. I was disappointed that it had no name though, that's part of the fun of nail polish and also how we separate them. So this will be the nameless Bonita. Thoughts? Feelings? Concerns?

Jelly Sandwich! (50/50)

This is a very special post because it is my 50th post and I also coincidentally have 50 followers! In addition to that it is my first attempt at a jelly sandwich :) For those of you not part of the nail polish community, this is where you sandwich a glitter polish between two layers of a thin polish so that the glitter appears to be suspended between the polish. I have seen this done so many times and my favorite is when a large hexagonal glitter is used. It seems to show up so much better. I typically prefer more opaque, rich colors so this is definitely stepping out of my box. I am pleased with the effect and plan to try it with different combos in the following weeks. For this I used Sation and Bonita polishes. Thoughts? Feelings? Concerns?

The colors used were Sation Miss McTeal and A Rose is a Rose is a Rose is a Rose with Bonita Gold Glitter sandwiched in between.

I might have tried a thinner coat of the A Rose is a Rose... color to allow the glitter to show through a little more. I tend to be a little heavy handed with my polish application. The formula of all three polishes was good though. the glitter, as expected had to be placed a little strategically but otherwise wasn't a problem.
